Yasmin Anderson-Smith is an award-winning, certified image consultant, and president of KYMS Image International, a consulting firm located in Bowie, Maryland. KYMS specializes in personal image and brand management, etiquette, civility and youth empowerment programs. Yasmin brings vision, creativity, passion, and elegance to her training, coaching and presentations. A graduate of The University of the West Indies (UWI), Howard University and Leadership Prince George’s, Yasmin is a former local government, management professional. After more than fifteen years, Yasmin successfully transitioned to entrepreneurship in the field of image consulting bringing her expertise in management, marketing, customer service, training and communication. Yasmin studied advanced image consulting and professional development training at the London Image Institute in Great Britain, under the direction of world-renowned, certified image master, Lynne Marks, who is currently president of the Association of Image Consultants International (AICI). A published author, Yasmin is a frequent guest presenter on image, etiquette, civility and personal branding in local and international settings. Her signature youth programs Every Girl Can™ and Your Image Matters- Sharpen it! ™ have been featured in local and international media. In 2007, Yasmin created the KYMS Etiquette and Civility Placemat and Dining Guide, an educational resource package with a multicultural focus. Yasmin is a co-author of Executive Image Power, published in June, 2009 by Power Dynamics Publishing. The book offers indispensable career-boosting advice for the 21st century from top image experts. Serving as leader, trainer, program director, mentor, advocate and role model, Yasmin has worked for over twenty years with youth and adults from diverse communities in a variety of settings. Her leadership roles include serving on the boards of the Institute for Caribbean Studies, John T. Walker National Learning Center, Silver Spring Boys and Girls Club Parent Advisory Council and the Washington DC Metro Area Chapters of (AICI) and the UWI Alumni Association. Yasmin is currently an adjunct faculty member at Montgomery College and The Bullis School in Maryland, USA where she teaches courses in civility, life skills and personal branding. Yasmin is the etiquette and civility editor of The Image Update, an AICI publication and chairs the AICI Civility Counts Project. In May 2009, Yasmin presented the seminar Embracing Civility – Expanding the Image Horizon at the annual AICI international conference in Irvine, California. In addition to AICI, Yasmin’s professional affiliations include the American Society for Training and Development, Greater Bowie Chamber of Commerce Women in Business Committee, Montgomery Women and Make it Happen!. Yasmin’s expertise in leadership, management, communication, training, team building and youth empowerment, underlies her global commitment to enrich, elevate, empower and inspire the lives of all her clients.
